The Ukrainian leader stated this during a conference.

Ending the war will not happen without security guarantees

Zelensky emphasized that these guarantees reflect the strength of the country and are essential to prevent a recurrence of war.

The President stressed that Ukraine is not afraid of invasion; rather, it is most concerned about the lives of its citizens, as this is its highest value.

"This is about the strength of the nation; they are needed to avoid a repeat of war. We are not afraid of invasion; we fear casualties — because lives are important to us," he stated.

According to the Ukrainian leader, Europe, NATO, and the USA can provide robust security guarantees; however, there has yet to be clear support from the United States regarding Ukraine's NATO membership.

In such a scenario, the only option for ensuring security remains a strong Ukrainian army and the presence of allied troops on the country's territory, which should become a collective decision for all of Europe.

Recall that Zelensky met today, February 18, with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.

On the same day, negotiations between representatives of the USA and Russia are taking place in Saudi Arabia, including discussions on ending the war in Ukraine.
