The publication states that following the commencement of the official application process for EU membership, Kyiv has yet to launch its first negotiation cluster with the bloc due to Brussels' inaction. Journalists believe that the situation may improve soon, thanks to the support from Sweden and the EU's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas.
Meanwhile, Swedish Minister for European Affairs Jessika Rosencrantz remarked that Ukraine has demonstrated sufficient progress for the bloc to open the first cluster, which addresses "fundamental issues" such as the rule of law, paving the way for further negotiations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized his desire for Kyiv to negotiate on 5-6 clusters out of the necessary 35 by 2025.
Recall that recently in Estonia, there was a statement made regarding Ukraine's EU accession. They expressed support for Kyiv on its path to Europe.
