Ukraine is set to receive several air defense systems from its partners in December. Additionally, there will be enhancements to the air shield in January.

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky shared this information during his evening address.

According to the president, he received a report today from Defense Minister Rustem Umerov regarding the implementation of agreements with partners to strengthen air defense in Ukraine.

"We are currently expecting systems from several partners in December, plus there are certain measures that can be taken in January for our air shield. It is crucial that this is implemented without any delay. Winter is a significant temptation for Russian terrorists," Zelensky stated.

Air Defense for Ukraine

Air defense systems currently play a vital role in protecting Ukraine during the full-scale war. They safeguard civilian infrastructure, residential areas, and strategic sites from missile and aerial attacks, reducing casualties among the population and minimizing the enemy's impact on the economy and morale.

Given the active use of modern missiles and drones by the adversary, the deployment of Western air defense systems such as Patriot, NASAMS, or IRIS-T significantly enhances Ukraine's security level.

On Monday, December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced a support package for Ukraine amounting to 600 million euros. This assistance also includes Iris-T air defense systems.
