The police provided details about the car accident involving an employee of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

An employee of the Kherson Regional State Administration was involved in a fatal accident on February 26. The police have provided details and are seeking witnesses.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the police of the Kherson region.

On February 26, around 6:00 PM, an accident occurred in Posad-Pokrovsk, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old cyclist.

According to preliminary information, the driver of a Renault Megan, who is the deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, struck a man who had entered from a secondary road and was crossing the roadway while driving on the M-14 highway "Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk."

"As a result of the incident, the driver of the two-wheeled vehicle sustained injuries incompatible with life. Investigators from the regional police department are working at the accident site. The vehicle has been seized and taken to an impound lot," the statement said.

A criminal case has been opened under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to violations of traffic safety rules resulting in the death of the victim.
