In Kyiv, one of the stations on the "blue" line has temporarily closed its entrance. The reason for this is an accident on the escalator.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Kyiv City State Administration.
"The metro station 'Lybidska' is temporarily closed for entry. The station is open for exit. Trains are stopping on both tracks," the KCSA stated.
As explained by the administration, on one of the escalators, which was descending, a passenger's shoe got caught in the mechanism after crossing the safety line, leading to the escalator's stoppage.
An ambulance was called to the scene. Specialists for escalator repairs are also present.
It is known that currently, one escalator is only operating for the ascent of passengers.
"Due to the major repair of escalator No. 1, there is no backup available to ensure passenger transport. We will inform you about the resumption of operations at the 'Lybidska' station in regular mode later," the KCSA added.
