The police are investigating an incident involving the beating of a teenager in Kyiv. The event took place in the Obolon district.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Kyiv police.
Law enforcement discovered information about the incident this evening, February 6, during a review of social media. Specifically, videos were published on Telegram channels showing a group of teenagers, hiding their faces with masks, beating a boy, after which they boast about having taken his phone.
"No statements or reports regarding this event have been submitted to the territorial police department," the police stated.
Later, the police added that a criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department of the Obolon police under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Hooliganism).
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement will establish the circumstances of the incident and identify all participants.
It should be noted that this is far from the first incident. Earlier, teenagers beat a boy in the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka, the incident occurred near Kyiv on January 25. The police have launched an investigation.
Prior to this, teenagers assaulted and verbally abused a 12-year-old girl in Bila Tserkva. The police have already identified the individuals involved in the conflict, and one 16-year-old boy has been ordered to remain in custody until March 20.
