A man died during the military medical commission in Chernivtsi on February 7. Currently, the representative of the ombudsman is investigating all the details.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing Telegram from the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, information about the man's death during the military medical commission in Chernivtsi was discovered during a social media monitoring, and by reviewing the official pages of the Chernivtsi regional TCC and SP and the National Police in the Chernivtsi region, it was established that the incident occurred on the morning of February 7.
"To clarify all the circumstances of the case, my representative in the Chernivtsi region sent letters to the Chernivtsi regional TCC and SP, the Chernivtsi zonal department of the State Border Guard Service, and the National Police in the Chernivtsi region," the ombudsman noted.
At the same time, as Lubinets pointed out, it is preliminarily known that initially law enforcement agencies found a local resident who was wanted for evading mobilization.
"The man was invited to clarify military registration information, to which he agreed. However, during the military medical commission, his condition suddenly deteriorated, and he lost consciousness," he noted.
According to the information from the director of the regional center for emergency medical assistance, the medical team found the man in a state of clinical death.
"Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The body was sent for a forensic examination to determine the cause of death. Investigative authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation, qualifying the incident as natural death," Lubinets added.
As reported earlier, a local resident contacted the ombudsman's representative with information that her father died after being beaten by TCC employees in Transcarpathia. Law enforcement has begun an investigation.
