Russia could potentially acquire powerful multiple launch rocket systems from North Korea, specifically the M1991 model. However, the Russians can strike Kharkiv with more than just these systems.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the spokesperson of the OTGV "Kharkiv," Yevgeny Romanov, during a national telemarathon broadcast.
According to him, there is indeed a certain threat from the weapons received by the Russians from North Korea, but he emphasized that in addition to these systems, the Russian Federation possesses other long-range systems capable of targeting Kharkiv.
"I would like to remind you that Russian terrorists are equipped with long-range multiple launch rocket systems, including 'Uragan,' 'Smerch,' and 'Tornado,' which can also reach Kharkiv from the Belgorod region. Therefore, I consider this threat somewhat exaggerated. Nonetheless, it does exist," Romanov stressed.
North Korea has begun to assist the Russian Federation in its war against Ukraine. In particular, around 10,000 North Korean soldiers have been sent to Russia. Additionally, the Russian Federation has received ammunition and ballistic missiles. According to media reports, North Korea has provided the Russian army with long-range rocket and artillery systems.
As reported by the Defense Forces, North Korean military personnel have already participated in combat operations in the Kursk region.
Recently, we wrote that North Korea may have sent its powerful M1991 multiple launch rocket systems to Russia, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 60 km.
