Two officials of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and a former director of a private enterprise have been reported as suspects due to multi-million budget losses.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The following individuals have been reported as suspects:

  • the head of one of the central departments of the AFU Logistics Command;
  • the head of a department within that command;
  • a former director of a private enterprise.

"According to the investigation, in 2022, contracts were signed between the AFU Logistics Command and the private enterprise for the supply of spare parts for armored vehicles. However, the enterprise, lacking experience in manufacturing and supplying such parts, deliberately inflated the prices of its products," the Office of the Prosecutor General states.

It is noted that the officials of the command did not verify offers from other enterprises and formally conducted negotiations with the aforementioned enterprise, declaring it the winner. As a result, two contracts for the supply of spare parts were signed at inflated prices totaling over 171 million hryvnias.

Confirmed budget losses for the state amount to over 83 million hryvnias.

Recall that RBK-Ukraine reported that a former deputy minister of social policy has been reported as a suspect due to budget losses of 24 million hryvnias.
