The Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain fire control over almost the entire island part of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. The Russians attempt landings there daily, with 5-7 attempts reported.

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, during a telethon.

According to him, the enemy currently conducts about 5 to 7 assault crossing operations each day. However, these actions resemble reconnaissance missions more than full-scale assaults. They involve 2-3 boats carrying 5-7 individuals. They are trying to land on our shore, particularly in the island zone, specifically on Kazatsky Island, to carry out assault operations there.

"The enemy is attempting to dislodge our defenders from there. Almost the entire area is under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the island zone of the Dnipro, therefore the enemy has not achieved success," Voloshin stated.

He also pointed out that in order to advance on Kherson, it is necessary to cross the Dnipro.

"To cross it (the river - ed.) requires gathering sufficient forces and resources, which is very difficult to conceal with the current reconnaissance capabilities. Our intelligence has not detected and cannot confirm that the enemy has amassed enough offensive forces and resources to conduct a crossing of the Dnipro," Voloshin said.

Risk of Russian Offensive on Kherson

It is worth noting that there remains a threat in southern Ukraine along two key directions. According to RBK-Ukraine, Russia has not abandoned its plans to initiate an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region and attempt to break through to Kherson.

In the Kherson region, Russian troops have already attempted offensive actions on the right bank of the Dnipro. In particular, enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups tried to break through to the Antonivsky Bridge area from the direction of Oleshky. These attacks were successfully repelled by the Defense Forces.
