In Ukraine, mobilization is currently conducted starting from the age of 25. Therefore, individuals under this age can only enlist in military service voluntarily by signing a contract.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine with a reference to the statement made by the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko.
Statements began circulating online suggesting that students who complete basic military training during their studies, and are subsequently expelled, could be mobilized until they reach the age of 25.
Kovalenko reminded that the current mobilization age in Ukraine is 25 years. This is why the mobilization of 18-year-old students after basic military training is fundamentally impossible.
"It is important not to spread unverified information. Until the age of 25, one can only enlist voluntarily by signing a contract," he wrote.
It should be noted that starting from September 1, 2025, basic military training will be introduced in higher educational institutions.
This will consist of theoretical and practical courses. The theoretical component must be completed by both men and women, while the practical component is mandatory for men. At the same time, if women wish to undertake the practical course, they will need to pass a military medical commission, be fit for military service, and register with the Military Recruitment Center.
