The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, oversaw the test launch of strategic cruise missiles. He also issued an order for full readiness to deploy nuclear weapons, which will ensure the most effective defense of the country.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Reuters.

According to media sources, the latest cruise missile test in North Korea aims to warn "enemies who seriously violate the security environment and contribute to escalating confrontation," as well as to demonstrate "the readiness of various nuclear operation capabilities of North Korea."

"What is guaranteed by a powerful strike capability is the most advanced deterrence and defense capability. The responsible mission and duty of North Korea's nuclear armed forces is to continuously protect national sovereignty and security with a reliable nuclear shield, enhancing the combat readiness of nuclear forces and full preparedness for their use," the agency quotes Kim.

It is noted that the missile launch took place on Wednesday, February 26, over waters off the western coast of the Korean Peninsula. Additionally, South Korean troops reported on Friday, February 28, that they had detected signs of North Korea preparing for a missile launch and were tracking several cruise missiles.
