Currently, there are no unusual situations at the border between Ukraine and Belarus. However, the combat readiness of the Belarusian troops is still being assessed, and Ukrainian border guards are monitoring the situation.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a television marathon.
"We do not observe any unusual situations or changes in the environment near our border, including the movement of equipment or personnel from Belarusian army units," Demchenko said.
He also noted that Belarus may attempt to shift responsibility onto Ukraine while cooperating with Russia, and will continuously conduct various exercises near the border.
"Currently, there is an assessment of the combat readiness of certain units and subdivisions of the Belarusian army, but our task is to observe how the situation may change, and this is being carried out by the reconnaissance units, the State Border Guard Service, and the Ministry of Defense, while being prepared for any developments," Demchenko stated.
It should be noted that Belarus has been supporting Russia since the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Russian troops, aviation, and other equipment are stationed on Belarusian territory, and regular military exercises are conducted.
Recently, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin submitted a treaty on security guarantees with Belarus for ratification in the State Duma. The document, among other things, provides for the use of nuclear weapons.
We have also reported that Belarus is increasing its military presence along the border with Ukraine. However, according to the Center for Defense Strategies, there is no threat of regular Belarusian troops invading Ukraine from its territory. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are monitoring the situation at the border.
