A new deputy will join the Rada: who will take the place of the future minister?

A 42-year-old entrepreneur from Khmelnytskyi will become the new member of parliament.
В Раде ожидается новый депутат: кто займет место будущего министра?

The son of former MP from "Batkivshchyna," Oleg Lukashuk, will take the place of Alena Shkrum in the Verkhovna Rada. The new people's deputy will be 42-year-old Bohdan Lukashuk from Khmelnytskyi, who heads the agricultural enterprise "Agrolain-Podillia."

Before receiving his deputy mandate, he must resign from his position as a deputy of the Khmelnytskyi City Council, where he was elected from "Batkivshchyna" in the local elections of 2020. This was reported by Glavkom, citing Bohdan Lukashuk himself.

The future parliamentarian occupies the 26th position on the "Batkivshchyna" list. He is currently awaiting a decision from the Verkhovna Rada regarding the termination of Alena Shkrum's powers. The Khmelnytskyi City Council is expected to consider his application for early resignation from deputy powers at the upcoming session.

As a reminder, Alena Shkrum submitted her resignation from her deputy mandate on November 29. She is set to lead the new Ministry of Return of Ukrainians, which will focus on uniting Ukrainians abroad, facilitating their return home, and countering Russian narratives.

In her Facebook post, Shkrum noted that November marked 10 years since she took the oath as a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. "It's time for significant changes. Life is movement. And one must move toward where they can be most useful at this moment," wrote the deputy.

Who is Bohdan Lukashuk

Bohdan Lukashuk is a 42-year-old entrepreneur from Khmelnytskyi and the head of the agricultural enterprise "Agrolain-Podillia." Since 2016, he has led the regional organization "Batkivshchyna Moloda," and in 2019, he served as a trusted person for Yulia Tymoshenko in the presidential elections for the 187th district. He is a founder of several enterprises in the region, particularly in milk processing and fuel trading.

The future MP is the son of Oleg Lukashuk, who was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada for four terms from "Batkivshchyna" and heads the regional party organization. Bohdan has worked as an assistant to several people's deputies, including his father, and has held positions in the State Land Agency of Ukraine. He also served as the deputy head of the district state administration in Khmelnytskyi Oblast from 2014 to 2015.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported that the Government explained why a new ministry "for return" is needed. The main goal of the new agency is to bring Ukrainians back home from abroad, but not by force.
