The number of traffic violation fines has increased. According to the Unified Registry of Debtors, in 2024, Ukraine has accumulated over 735 thousand new debts due to unpaid fines for traffic violations, of which 37% remain unpaid.
Based on data from OpenDataBot, the highest number of debtors is recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region and Kyiv. As of December 2024, the registry counted 1.8 million fines.
Lawyer Viktor Mazur explains that an administrative fine for a traffic violation must be paid within 15 days to the account of the district state treasury. If the fine notice was sent by mail, the payment period is counted from the moment of receipt.
If the fine is not paid, it will be transferred to the enforcement authorities, which can recover:
You can check for fines using the "Diia" app, as well as through the online banking services of PrivatBank, Monobank, and others in the "Services" section.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported on how to check debts from enforcement proceedings in "Diia" and beyond. It also reflects other debts in addition to traffic violation fines.
