Zelensky discussed the transformation of the Ukrainian army throughout the course of the war.

At the onset of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian army primarily consisted of professional military personnel. Due to casualties, the number of mobilized troops is increasing, leading to a shift in the structure of the forces.
Зеленский рассказал о преобразованиях украинской армии на протяжении войны.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with AP on Sunday, February 2.

How the Ukrainian Army Has Changed During the War

As the head of state noted, there are losses on both sides — in Ukraine and in Russia. Therefore, it is necessary to mobilize more people into the army.

"When the war began, 90% of our army consisted of professional officers, and 10% were mobilized individuals," the President noted.

According to him, in order to preserve the lives of personnel, the army is currently being restructured. This involves replacing personnel with technology.

"Our people are doing everything possible so that technologically we can replace personnel. It is better to lose a significant number of drones and robotic systems than to lose people," Zelensky said.

Additionally, in the interview, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is now closer to peace than ever. According to him, Ukrainians have suffered significant losses during the struggle for independence.

The President of Ukraine also responded regarding how much financial aid Ukraine has received from the U.S. Zelensky noted that it amounts to billions of dollars.
