January was the warmest on record for Kyiv, with 11 temperature records broken throughout the month.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Central Geophysical Observatory.

"In the last six days of the month, 11 temperature records were set," the message states.

The coldest day in the capital was January 6, when the minimum temperature dropped to 6.9 degrees below zero in the early morning, while the warmest was on January 30, when the maximum temperature reached 11.6 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

Precipitation at 37 Science Avenue totaled 25 mm, or 68% of the climatic norm.

It is worth noting that at the end of January, an abnormally warm weather settled in Kyiv. The climatic norm was exceeded by 10 degrees, resembling early April conditions.

According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, 2024 has become the warmest year in the capital since observations began. The average annual temperature for 2024 in the capital was 11.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.4 degrees above the climatic norm.

In total, 52 temperature records were registered in Kyiv in 2024, with the highest number occurring in April - 13 and in July - 14.
