In Odessa, a baby's body was discovered in the freezer of an apartment.

In Odessa, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a young boy. The child's body was discovered in a freezer in one of the apartments.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the National Police of Ukraine.

"The body of a child aged 1 year and 3 months was found in a freezer in an apartment in the Peresyp district," the statement said.

According to the police, the boy lived with his 2-year-old sister, his 18-year-old mother, and her 44-year-old repeatedly convicted partner. Investigators are working with the mother and the man.

"The two-year-old girl has been removed from the family and temporarily placed in a hospital," law enforcement officials noted.

Investigators and forensic experts from the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region, along with a mobile DNA lab, were working at the scene, as well as the investigative-operational group from police station No. 2 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1.

Information regarding this incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under paragraph 2, part 2 of Article 115 (intentional murder of a minor child) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The boy's body has been sent for forensic examination to determine the final cause of death. Investigative actions are ongoing, and all details are being established.

As reported, a newborn boy was found on the street near Kyiv. He was left in a bag next to a private house.
