In the city of Dnipro, some residents will be without heating for the next two days due to an accident at the Prydniprovska TPP.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the power plant's press service on Facebook.
The company noted that due to a technological issue, heating supply to the Prydniprovskiy residential area has been completely halted temporarily. Initially, the energy workers managed to maintain heating supplies at a basic level, but unfortunately, the equipment could not withstand it, and another technological failure occurred.
"Just last year, the Ukrainian energy system experienced 13 massive enemy strikes. By the summer of 2024, about 90% of DTEK's thermal generation was destroyed or damaged. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK's TPPs have been attacked by the enemy more than 200 times," the statement said.
It is noted that specialists will need at least two days to restore minimal heating supply. For more extensive repairs and to address the previously reported issue, a period of 14 days will be required.
The Prydniprovska thermal power plant (TPP) is one of the oldest thermal power stations in Ukraine, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It was commissioned in 1954 and has played an important role in the country's energy system, supplying electricity to industrial enterprises and residential areas.
The plant primarily operated on coal sourced from neighboring regions and had significant capacity, although its technical condition gradually deteriorated over the years.
Recall that RBK-Ukraine reported that on February 22, Russian invaders attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with kamikaze drones. In the Kamianske district, debris from enemy UAVs damaged a facility, causing a fire at the crash site.
