In February 2025, the average monthly air temperature in Ukraine is expected to range from -3 degrees Celsius to +2 degrees Celsius. This is 1.5-2 degrees above the norm.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a forecast published on the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center website.
Thus, February will be warmer than January, during which the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center anticipated temperatures of -0 to -3 degrees Celsius, and December (from -4 degrees Celsius to +2 degrees Celsius).
According to meteorologists' forecast, the monthly precipitation is expected to be 25-65 mm, which is below normal.
Data from long-term observations indicate that in February, the average monthly air temperature is between -0 to -5 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the southern Odesa region, Crimea, and Transcarpathia experiencing temperatures of +1 to +4 degrees Celsius.
The absolute minimum air temperature ranges from -24 to -39 degrees Celsius, while in the southern Odesa region and Crimea, it is between -15 to -23 degrees Celsius.
The absolute maximum air temperature is between +12 to +20 degrees Celsius; in Crimea, southern regions, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi regions, it may reach +21 to +24 degrees Celsius, and in the highlands of the Carpathians, temperatures of +9 to +11 degrees Celsius.
The average monthly precipitation amounts to 22-67 mm, with 74-108 mm in the Carpathians.
Recall that meteorological winter arrived in Kyiv five days earlier than usual on November 24. The earliest winter in Kyiv was on October 20 in 1920, and the latest was on December 29 in 2015. During the 2019-2020 period, meteorological winter did not occur at all.
