Russians have executed Ukrainian prisoners once again in the Kursk region.

Russian invaders executed prisoners from the Bukovinian Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This incident occurred in the area where the Kursk operation of the Defense Forces is taking place.

Execution of Ukrainian Prisoners of War

"A video allegedly depicting the brutal execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk direction is circulating on social media. According to one of the Ukrainian fighters, these are soldiers from the 82nd Brigade," Lubinets stated.

He noted that the footage shows a Russian invader deliberately shooting a Ukrainian prisoner of war in the head.

The human rights advocate added that the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war serves as further evidence of the inhumane brutality of the Russian army.

"The video circulating on social media demonstrates the intentional murder of defenseless Ukrainian prisoners of war. This is a gross violation of the Geneva Convention and all norms of international humanitarian law," Lubinets reminded.

Lubinets also mentioned that he has already reached out to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding this crime. He added that Russia must face the consequences of its war crimes.

Previously, we reported that, according to a captured Russian occupier, the Russian command ordered its troops to execute Ukrainian prisoners of war. In total, Russian military forces executed 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war in 2024.
