Russian invaders launched an airstrike on the Sadov community near Sumy last night, utilizing a "Shahed" type attack drone for the assault. As a result of the shelling, residential homes were damaged.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"Last night, the enemy attacked the Sadov community with a Shahed UAV," the publication stated on the OVA's Telegram channel.
The administration informed that preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the drone strike in the populated area.
Due to the enemy air attack, residential buildings sustained damage (to windows, facades, and roofs).
The OVA added that relevant services are working at the site of the strike, and the consequences of the drone attack are being assessed.
Furthermore, the administration released photos from the scene of the Russian drone attack on the Sadov community during the night of February 2.
Additionally, around midnight, local Sumy social media reported an explosion that was heard in the city area. This occurred amidst the enemy "Shahed" attack that night.
Note: The administrative center of the Sadov rural community in the Sumy region is the village of Sad. According to open sources, as of 2020, the population is over 10,000 residents.
The village of Sad is located almost on the outskirts of Sumy, southwest of the city.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces launched several groups of attack drones towards Ukraine on the night of February 2 for another airstrike. It is already known that air defense systems were active in the Kyiv region, where enemy UAVs were detected.
It is also worth noting that an explosion was reported in Kharkiv during the drone attack. Local authorities mentioned that a hit was recorded in the Slobidskyi district of the city.
