Russia launched a ballistic attack on Izium, resulting in fatalities and dozens of injuries.

On Tuesday, February 4, the Russian army shelled the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region. The first casualties and injuries have already been reported.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov.

According to Synegubov, the Russian occupiers used a ballistic missile. As of 12:10, four fatalities were confirmed.

At least 20 people have been reported injured, five of whom have been hospitalized. All emergency services are currently on site.

"The enemy struck the central part of the city. The number of injured has risen to 20," Synegubov reported.

Synegubov clarified that as a result of the shelling, one person is trapped under the debris. Efforts to mitigate the aftermath are ongoing.

"Administrative buildings have been partially destroyed, and a residential five-story building has been damaged. Rescuers, emergency medical services, and canine units are working on the scene," he wrote.

As of 12:50, it is known that 24 people have been hospitalized in Izyum. Among them is a 15-year-old girl who sustained shrapnel wounds; her condition is moderate.

Three more individuals are in surgery, and medical staff are providing all necessary assistance.

Synegubov reported that the number of fatalities resulting from the Izyum shelling has increased to five.

"Rescuers have recovered another body. The identity is being confirmed," he stated.

It is worth noting that earlier, Synegubov announced that the cities of Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region are being prepared for circular defense. There, construction of fortifications is ongoing, and these are planned activities.

Night Attack on Ukrainian Territory

Last night, the Russian army launched strike drones over Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were declared in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Poltava regions, as well as parts of the Cherkasy region. During the drone attack, explosions were heard in Kyiv.

In addition, the Russian army attacked the Cherkasy region, where hits on enterprises have been recorded.
