A protest by Ukrainian activists took place in Washington against the participation of Russian evangelical pastors in the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast. This was reported by Voice of America and relayed by UNN.

The primary reason for the discontent was the presence of religious figures among the invitees who publicly support the aggressor's policies and the war against Ukraine.

Despite adverse weather conditions, protesters gathered early in the morning outside the Hilton hotel where the event was held. They urged U.S. authorities to deny entry to individuals promoting ideas that justify Russian aggression and to impose sanctions against them.

Among the guests at the prayer breakfast were representatives of Russian religious organizations with ties to the Kremlin. Notably, Sergei Ryakhovsky, a bishop holding significant positions in Russian religious and state structures, and Dmitry Shatrov, a representative of a religious organization in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia, were spotted at the event.

The Ukrainian community in Washington emphasized that the participation of such individuals in these events is unacceptable, as they support the actions of Russian authorities aimed at the destruction of Ukraine. Activists underscored the importance of international support in the fight against the spread of Kremlin propaganda and called for decisive actions against those who justify war crimes.
