This was announced by the representative of the KVA Evgeny Ievlev during an interview on Vecher.LIVE on Wednesday, February 26.
The air defense cannot eliminate a drone without consequences. However, if a missile fails to reach its target, it simply creates a crater in the ground, while the debris from drones can at least cause fires or fall on rooftops.
"Sometimes drones enter Kyiv's territory at altitudes lower than the tallest buildings in the city. Therefore, the belief that drones pose less danger is incorrect," — emphasized Ievlev.
He noted that the Russians mainly use drones to exert pressure on civilian Ukrainians. Often, they are not aimed at critically important facilities, so it is essential not to neglect personal safety.
"This decision has been considered; there are indeed opinions that it would be better to create a separate air raid signal for drone attacks and another for missile safety. However, after consulting with relevant services today, we concluded that such a necessity does not exist," — stated the KVA representative.
Recall that Evgeny Ievlev pointed out that the debris from downed enemy drones should not be touched. They can detonate right in your hands.
Additionally, the KVA representative commented on the prolonged air raid alerts in the capital. Ievlev explained that the Russians are not just attacking cities but also aim to exhaust the air defense systems.
