This was reported on Saturday, February 8, by the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.
It is known that the fighters eliminated a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Toretsk direction. This aircraft, known as "Grach," is one of the main means of supporting the enemy's ground forces. Its primary function is to strike armored vehicles, fortifications, and personnel.
"Another Russian attack aircraft has been downed in the Toretsk direction thanks to our air defense warriors," the brigade stated.
The Su-25 features an armored cockpit and can carry up to 4.4 tons of combat payload, including unguided missiles, bombs, and cannon armament. The aircraft is designed for operations in challenging combat conditions, making it a formidable opponent on the battlefield. However, even such technology is no barrier for Ukrainian defenders.
It’s worth noting that the destruction of such an aircraft represents not only a tactical but also an economic loss for Russia. The cost of one Su-25 exceeds 11 million dollars, making this loss significant for the occupiers.
We remind you that Zelensky warned that the invaders aim to capture the ports of Greater Odesa. We also reported that the United Kingdom has joined the development of two advanced maritime drones that could significantly alter the course of the war in the Black Sea. Currently, final system tests are underway.
