This was reported by member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on national security, defense, and intelligence Fedor Venislavsky during an interview with UNIAN on Tuesday, January 28.
As Venislavsky noted, there is currently no talk of halting hostilities. He believes that the active discussion of a likely ceasefire only harms Ukraine's national security and defense capability.
"Because it creates a certain nervousness and uncertainty. I have no grounds to hope that the war will end in the coming months, as someone who has slightly more information from closed sources. The war will definitely not end in a few months," he stated.
Venislavsky also added that mobilization is proceeding as planned, and no leniency should be expected. He is convinced that the discussion of the possibility of enlisting in the army from the age of 18 only confirms this.
Recall that former commander of the U.S. Army in Europe, General Ben Hodges, stated that Russia cannot be trusted. He emphasized that the Russian Federation will not adhere to any agreements reached during negotiations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained why he banned any negotiations with the Russian Federation at the beginning of the full-scale war. According to the head of state, he wanted to protect Ukraine from collapse.
