About this, Roman Kostenko commented to journalist Halyna Ostapovets from Novini.LIVE.
Kostenko noted that a ceasefire is possible, but the end of the war is certainly not. According to him, the main question is how long such agreements would last, if they occur.
"I have experienced dozens of ceasefires. Some lasted three days, others just minutes or even seconds. While discussions about a ceasefire were happening in Kyiv, we were simply laughing about it in the trenches and continued fighting," — emphasized the head of the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
Kostenko stressed that without security guarantees, Russia will never stop, as the occupiers have not achieved their goals.
Recall that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope for the war to end this year.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt speculated that the war in Ukraine could conclude within a week.
