Strict security measures have been implemented in the area where the ceremony is taking place — the site is enclosed with fences, and there is a significant presence of security personnel. Approximately 80 high-ranking officials are expected to arrive at the former Auschwitz camp. Additionally, survivors who were victims of the Nazis will also participate in the event.
The ceremony's opening was addressed by Polish President Andrzej Duda. He laid flowers and candles at the monument dedicated to the victims of Nazi torture. The main part of the event will commence at 5:00 PM Kyiv time.
