This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an address on Saturday, February 8.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to the new NATO official. According to him, during the meeting, they discussed preparations for "Ramstein" and the defense needs of Ukraine. The head of state emphasized that intelligence indicates that the Russians are currently ramping up production and forming new divisions.
"And this means a simple thing: Putin is preparing not for negotiations, not for a peace offensive, but for the continuation of war, and not just against us, against Ukraine. They are currently increasing their army by more than 100,000 soldiers. All partners need to know this and must see it. We are ready to share the relevant information, and appropriate communication is already happening through intelligence channels," noted the head of state.
It is now clear that European countries will need to strengthen their defenses, Zelensky stated. He added that the goal of 5% of GDP for defense will not disappear from the agenda.
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that since the beginning of the operation in Kharkiv, more than 700 Russian soldiers have been taken captive. Additionally, over the last two days, Ukrainian defenders have advanced another 2.5 kilometers.
The new President of the United States, Donald Trump, commented on the possibility of a future meeting with the Russian dictator. He noted that this is possible, as he has always had "good relations" with Putin.
