Russia launched missile strikes on energy facilities, many of which were intercepted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

On the night of January 15, Russian occupiers launched a massive strike on Ukrainian territory. The attack was carried out using a combination of various missile types and Shahed attack drones. In several regions, impacts were recorded.

In total, the Ukrainian Air Force recorded 117 enemy objects in the sky. The occupiers launched a ballistic missile "Iskander-M," as well as several dozen cruise missiles and drones. Specifically:

  • 1 ballistic missile "Iskander-M";
  • 7 cruise missiles X-22/32;
  • 4 cruise missiles "Caliber" from the Black Sea;
  • 27 missiles X-101/X-55;
  • 4 air-to-surface missiles X-59/X-69;
  • 74 drones, primarily "Shahed," launched from Russian territory.

All available defense means were engaged to counter the air assault: fighters, anti-aircraft systems, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare systems.

As of 10:30 AM, 77 targets had been shot down: 23 cruise missiles X-101 and X-55, three "Caliber" missiles, four air-to-surface missiles X-59/X-69, 47 kamikaze drones, and various types of decoy drones. Additionally, 27 "Shaheds" failed to reach their targets, disappearing from radar.

Where Russia Launched Attacks From

The Russian occupiers struck from different regions:

  • The ballistic missile "Iskander-M" was launched from the Belgorod region;
  • Cruise missiles X-22/32 were launched from the Tula region of the Russian Federation;
  • Cruise missiles "Caliber" were launched from the Black Sea;
  • Cruise missiles X-101/X-55 were launched from the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation;
  • Guided air-to-surface missiles X-59/X-69 were launched from Belgorod;
  • Drones Shahed and decoy drones were launched from the areas of Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Consequences of the Russian Mass Attack on January 15

The main target of the strike once again was energy facilities. The Air Force reported that the enemy managed to hit some objects.

"The enemy attacked Ukrainian energy facilities, particularly the gas infrastructure in Kharkiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Unfortunately, as a result of the Russian attack, there are damages to the facilities," the agency stated.
