This was reported by Alena Skuybida, co-founder of the Marine Corps Association, in a comment to Novini.LIVE.
Alena Skuybida is the wife of a captured soldier from the 501st Marine Brigade. Today is her birthday, but she chose to spend her special day at a rally outside the Red Cross building. She expresses that it's impossible to celebrate when a loved one is in captivity.
According to Alena, she has repeatedly visited the ICRC, personally delivering photos and videos that show her beloved in captivity. However, the Red Cross only informed her about her husband's captivity after a year and a half, citing "data from Russian lists." They did not provide any information about the health status or location of her husband in the ICRC.
Recall that on February 7, people gathered for a rally outside the Red Cross building in Kyiv. They are openly expressing their emotions and demanding the return of their loved ones from captivity.
Representatives of the organization reached out to the activists and stated that they are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts every day.
However, the families of the POWs complain about the inaction of the Red Cross and urge them to take action.
