Negotiations Between Russia and the USA

During a briefing for journalists, Russian President Representative Dmitry Peskov announced that a meeting between the RF and the USA will take place on February 18 in Saudi Arabia. Today, at Putin's request, Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov are flying to Riyadh.

Peskov emphasized that the meeting will primarily aim to "restore the entire complex of Russian-American relations." It was also confirmed by the RF that discussions will include preparations for possible negotiations regarding the cessation of the war in Ukraine and organizing a meeting between Zelensky and Putin.

As a reminder, according to media reports, the United States is planning to arrange joint negotiations between Ukraine and Russia later. Currently, they wish to communicate separately with representatives from both countries.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Saudi Arabia today, February 17. He is set to meet with the Russian delegation to discuss the end of the war against Ukraine.
