Denis Nikitin discussed this in an interview with Vechir.LIVE.
Nikitin noted that in 2022, the RDK consisted of him and two of his friends, but today the corps has grown to over a dozen members. According to him, Russian propaganda is trying to guess the number of participants in the corps.
"There are a lot of versions. We are expanding our ranks, having established a certain recruitment and training system. And even at this moment, while I am giving this interview, people are coming to us", emphasized the founder of the RDK.
The commander of the corps explained that the RDK distinguishes between those who arrive from Russia and Europe, those who come from Ukraine, and those who join them from captivity. He noted that these are all separate groups.
"Those who come to us from Russia are the most passionate group. These guys are burning their previous lives, cutting all ties, and there is no way back for them", Nikitin stated.
He clarified that prisoners represent a different story, as men often end up in "Storm-Z" or "Storm-V" because they are left with no choice.
"Guys from captivity — that's a separate story. I never justify anyone, but the situations in which people end up in 'Storm-Z' or 'Storm-V' are often such that they have no choice. For example, a guy gets sent to a colony for some minor offense, and he is given 2.5 years in prison", the commander of the RDK explained.
Recall that one of the RDK fighters, Andrei, shared with Novini.LIVE about his experience transitioning to the corps. According to him, he joined the RDK after being captured.
Additionally, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned the number of Russian soldiers fighting on Ukrainian territory. According to him, it exceeds 600,000 individuals.
