This was reported by the communications advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Darja Zarivna, in a Telegram post on Tuesday, January 28.
The children had been under Russian occupation for an extended period. They range from 1.5 to 18 years old. Among them is the 15-year-old daughter of a defender, who was recently freed from Russian captivity. The family had to conceal their plans to leave in order to protect the military member while she was still imprisoned.
"An 8-year-old boy also returned home, who, despite the occupiers' ban, had been secretly studying in a Ukrainian online school all this time," noted Darja Zarivna.
Among the returned children is a 17-year-old young man. He personally sought help to escape from the occupation and continue building a future in Ukraine. He celebrated his 18th birthday already at home.
It is worth noting that children whose parents are in captivity participated in a support rally for prisoners of war. The event took place in Kharkiv.
The bodies of 757 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine as a result of repatriation efforts. The defenders fought in the Donetsk region and Zaporizhzhia.
