Budanov explained why it's challenging to eliminate the Russian factories producing "Shaheds."

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that Ukraine is unable to eliminate the factories producing "Shahed" drones in Russia. He cited three reasons for this.
Буданов объяснил, почему не удается уничтожить российские заводы "шахедов".

Budanov mentioned this in a comment to Novini.LIVE.

Production of Shaheds in Russia

Budanov explained that the first reason for the inability to destroy such facilities is their considerable distance, and the second is that the Russians protect these factories with powerful electronic warfare and air defense systems.

At the same time, to strike at the drone production, one must breach the first line of defense, which is positioned along our front. Thirdly, such facilities are "area targets," and their sizes are measured in kilometers.

"And a drone is an aerial assault tool that carries a rather limited payload. It is intended for pinpoint targets, while we need to destroy area targets,” noted the head of GUR.

He added that Ukraine needs missiles for this purpose, but domestically produced weapons currently do not have the range needed.

Earlier, Budanov predicted the intensity of future attacks by Russian kamikaze drones on Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, over the past week, the Russians launched nearly 1150 strike drones against Ukraine.
