This was reported by The Independent on Sunday, January 26.
According to the publication, David Arahamiya secured a rare spot in the Capitol rotunda during Donald Trump’s inauguration. Following this, he stated that he anticipates a meeting between representatives of the U.S. and Ukraine next month.
"We are currently working to ensure that the relevant meetings take place at the inter-parliamentary and other levels," — the publication quotes Arahamiya.
The report noted that Arahamiya was one of the few foreign dignitaries allowed into the building. One source from The Independent pointed out that those concerned about Ukraine should take note of Arahamiya's presence at Trump's inauguration. It was described as a significant step that indicates the new U.S. President's intention to secure a "good" deal to end the war for Ukraine.
"The President takes this issue very seriously. There are several complex matters to be addressed, but he intends to work with Zelensky, and an official meeting will take place soon," — the source added.
Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously stated that Donald Trump would not be able to quickly end the war. However, the head of state is convinced that the American leader has influence over the Russian Federation.
Dmitry Peskov reported that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready to meet with Donald Trump. He stated that the Kremlin would announce the meeting details.
