A driver in Kyiv, under the influence, crashed into a minibus and a lift after exceeding the dose by seven times.

A drunk driver in Kyiv caused a triple accident on the road. He collided with a minibus and a lift truck, resulting in one injury.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Kyiv police.

"The accident occurred yesterday (February 21, - ed.) at around 10:45 on Kubanskaya Street in the Desnyansky district. A forensic investigative group from the Kyiv police, patrol officers, and medical personnel were on site," the statement said.

The authorities established that a 30-year-old driver of a passenger car, while inebriated (1.39 promille), lost control and first collided with a bus that was parked empty at a stop, and then with an Iveco lift truck that was traveling in the same direction.

"As a result of the accident, a 28-year-old passenger of the Hyundai was injured - she was hospitalized with a broken arm," police added.

The perpetrator of the accident was detained by investigators under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The offender has been informed of the suspicion, and a decision is being made regarding the measure of restraint. It should be noted that the driver exceeded the 'safe' alcohol limit, which is 0.2 promille, by almost seven times.

The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment for up to three years, along with a ban on driving for a period of three to five years.

As previously reported, in January, an accident occurred in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Two people died as a result of a collision between a minivan and a bus.

In November of last year, in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv, a driver fatally struck a woman while she was crossing at a pedestrian crossing.
