A girl was assaulted in Bila Tserkva. One of the teenagers has been charged with suspicion in connection to the incident.

One of the teenagers involved in the beating of a 12-year-old girl in White Church has been notified of suspicion regarding charges of torture and extortion.

One of the teenagers involved in the beating of a 12-year-old girl in Bila Tserkva has been charged with torture and extortion.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv Oblast.

It is noted that the charge has been brought against a 16-year-old boy.

According to the investigation, the suspect and other minors gathered in a local park, where they invited the 12-year-old victim.

"Subsequently, to intimidate the girl, the suspect threatened and struck her on the head, after which he sprayed pepper spray in her face. Along with the physical assault, the suspect exerted psychological pressure on the victim and demanded 15,000 hryvnias from her," the police report states.

Possible Consequences

Under Part 4 of Article 189 and Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (CCU), the teenager faces up to 12 years in prison.

In particular, law enforcement is investigating a criminal case under Article 125 of the CCU (intentional light bodily harm) against three other minors.

Beating of the Girl in Bila Tserkva

Recently, several videos began circulating online, showing a group of teenagers, including girls, humiliating and beating the girl. In one of the recordings, threats could be heard.

Yesterday, on January 20, the Office of the Prosecutor General announced the opening of a criminal case and the establishment of all circumstances surrounding the incident.
